I am a passionate kayak angler based in South Wales with extensive experience in the sport. My angling journey has taken me from the fast-flowing tides of the Bristol Channel, where I’ve fished for cod, rays, and congers, to the challenging Anglian waters of the Midlands, targeting big zander, perch, and pike. I am also a regular competitor in the UK kayak angling scene.
In 2022, my achievements reached new heights as I secured 1st place in the pro category at three of the UK’s premier kayak angling competitions: the Swanage Classic in May, Zandermania at Grafham Water in June, and the Oxwich European Kayak Event in July.
I am skilled in using the latest Garmin LiveScope technology for locating and catching fish and excel in targeting and safely handling large predatory species like tope and pike. My expertise spans various aspects of bait and lure fishing, making me well-equipped to share my knowledge and techniques with fellow anglers.

I’ve been a mad keen angler from a young age, growing up near the Northumberland coast where sea fishing was my main passion. I spent my childhood fishing from harbour piers and jetties for mini species, flatfish, and eels, as well as targeting cod from the beach and rocks. My adventures also included offshore wreck fishing for big cod and ling.
In 2014, I saw someone launching a fishing kayak from my local beach and knew instantly that it was the sport for me. I bought my first kayak in February 2015, living just a mile from the sea made it an ideal fit. Soon after, I bought a second kayak, and my wife, Liz, joined me on the water and was quickly hooked.
While I gained extensive experience kayak fishing the rugged Northumbrian coast, weather conditions could be restrictive. To continue fishing throughout the year, I turned to freshwater, focusing on pike and perch fishing in rivers and lakes. I primarily fish freshwater now, using lures all year round, but still venture out to the sea when possible.
We spend most of our time in Scotland but travel across the UK for events and to explore new waters. My competition highlights include a 2nd place finish in the Pitsford Kayak Grand Slam 2021, narrowly missing the top spot by just 1cm.
Currently, I base myself on the banks of Loch Ken in South West Scotland, where we have excellent access for launching kayaks and some fantastic perch and pike fishing right on our doorstep.

I have been an angler for as long as I can remember and have embraced kayak angling for nearly a decade. Discovering the joy of stealthy fishing from these versatile platforms has transformed my approach to lure fishing. Whether navigating large reservoirs, Lake District waters, or isolated river sections, the kayak has become the ultimate platform for my fishing adventures.
Over the years, I’ve achieved some impressive catches, including pike over 32lbs, perch up to 5lbs, and zander exceeding 10lbs. My success extends to competitions, with multiple wins and top 5 finishes across both the UK and Europe.
I offer guided trips that provide valuable experience with the latest Lowrance Active Target technology, focusing on predators like pike, perch, and zander across various Midlands venues. During our one-to-one sessions, you will not only learn essential kayak skills using the most current pedal-powered kayaks and fish-finding technology but also gain expertise in different styles of lure fishing and how to target specific fish effectively.
